Welcome to Our “Grow Your Own” Project: Two-Week In-House Training Overview

During the two-week in-house training, we are committed to providing you with comprehensive and hands-on learning experiences that will equip you with essential skills and knowledge for excelling in the care industry.

Week 1

Roles & Responsibilities

In this session, you will gain a clear understanding of the various roles within the care sector. We will explore the responsibilities associated with each role, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and dedication in delivering quality care to individuals.

Health & Safety

The safety of both care recipients and caregivers is paramount. During this session, you will learn about the essential health and safety measures in a care setting, including risk assessments, fire safety, infection prevention, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Infection Control

Understanding infection control protocols is crucial for maintaining a clean and safe environment for care recipients. You will learn about infection transmission, effective hand hygiene, and the best practices for preventing the spread of infections.

Emergency First Aid

Accidents and emergencies can happen at any time. This session will equip you with basic first aid skills, such as CPR, wound care, and how to respond swiftly and appropriately in emergency situations.

Week 2

& Handling of People

Safe and proper handling techniques are essential when assisting individuals with mobility challenges. You will learn how to transfer and support care recipients using specialized equipment to avoid injury and ensure their comfort.

Adult Support & Protection

As a caregiver, you will encounter vulnerable adults who may require safeguarding. This session will explore the importance of recognizing signs of abuse or neglect and how to report concerns to protect those in your care.

Personal Care

Maintaining personal hygiene is crucial for the well-being and dignity of care recipients. You will learn how to provide sensitive and respectful personal care, ensuring the comfort and independence of those you support.

Support with Nutrition

Nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining overall health. In this session, you will learn about balanced diets, dietary restrictions, and how to assist individuals in eating that meet their specific needs.

Assisting with Dressing

Dressing and grooming are essential activities of daily living. You will gain practical skills in helping care recipients dress appropriately, taking into account their preferences and any physical limitations they may have.
