Funding options
SAAS funding may be available
You may qualify if you earn £25,000 or less (before tax), are studying an eligible course, and meet SAAS residency criteria. If you don’t qualify, flexible payment plans are available.

Who is eligible?
This award is for professionals currently working in a childcare or children’s services setting in Scotland. You must have the support of your manager to complete the qualification.
Is prior experience required?
Yes. This is a work-based qualification, so you need to be in a relevant role to complete the practice observations and assignments.
How long does it take?
Most learners complete in 6–12 months, working flexibly around their job via the Learn Assistant e-portfolio.
Is SAAS funding available?
SAAS funding is available for eligible candidates earning £25,000 or less. Flexible payment plans are also available if you don’t qualify.
