Overview of the Moving & Handling of People Training Course

This Moving & Handling of People Training Course provides healthcare and support workers with essential skills to handle individuals safely. Moreover, learners will understand best practices, compliance requirements, and workplace safety measures. As a result, participants gain confidence in performing moving and handling tasks correctly, while reducing the risk of injury to themselves and those in their care.

Course Format

The course is delivered in an interactive, face-to-face classroom setting. First, participants engage in theoretical teaching, followed by practical demonstrations and scenario-based exercises. In addition, group discussions reinforce learning and encourage peer feedback. Our experienced NUCO-certified trainers guide participants through equipment use and safe handling techniques, thereby building both skill and confidence in a hands-on environment.

Workload & Length

Participants complete a short online theory module lasting 10–20 minutes prior to attending. Consequently, the face-to-face session focuses primarily on practical learning. The classroom element runs for approximately 7 hours, including short breaks. Additionally, learners should wear suitable footwear and comfortable clothing for practical exercises. By doing so, participants maximise their hands-on experience and skill development.

Assessment Methods & Certification

Successful completion of the assessments will result in certification.

The certification provided by our company is valid for 3 years, and participants can renew it through further training or recertification.
