Participants explore how medications are classified, the difference between brand and generic names, the various routes of administration, and how to correctly read and interpret pharmacy labels and prescriptions. - Legal framework & support levels
This section covers the legal aspects of medication administration, including consent, record-keeping requirements, and the different levels of support workers are permitted to provide under Scottish legislation and care regulations. - Best practices and handling challenges
Using case studies and group discussion, participants work through real-world medication challenges, covering errors, refusals, storage, disposal, and the practical decisions that arise in daily care settings. - Assessment Q&A and certification
