How the course runs
- Introduction & role of the paedriatric first aider
The day opens with an overview of what paediatric first aid involves, the responsibilities of a first aider, and how to assess an emergency situation involving a child or infant. - Practical demonstrations
Your instructor demonstrates each key skill, including paediatric CPR, AED use, choking response for children and infants, and the recovery position, before participants practise hands-on in a safe environment. - Scenario based learning
Case studies and group discussions help you apply your skills to realistic paediatric emergencies, building the confidence to act quickly and calmly when it matters. - Continuous assessment
Throughout the day your instructor observes your practical skills and checks understanding. Assessment is built into the activities, there's no separate written exam. - Certification
Participants who successfully complete all assessments receive a certificate from NUCO Training, valid for three years.

Before you arrive
Wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear, you'll be taking part in practical exercises which may require lying and kneeling down on the floor throughout the day.
Certificate
CTC Certified for 3 years
Assessed through practical demonstrations and knowledge checks throughout the course. Successful completion earns a certificate valid for 3 years, and the training can be recorded as part of your SSSC Continuous Professional Learning (CPL). Renew through further training when your certificate expires.
