How the course runs

  1. Introduction to GDPR and data protection principles
    The session opens with an overview of GDPR, its purpose, scope, and the seven data protection principles. Participants learn what constitutes personal data, how to identify it, and what the principles mean in practical terms for your organisation.

  2. Special categories and processing conditions
    Participants explore the special categories of personal data ,such as health information, ethnicity, and biometric, and the specific conditions that must be met to lawfully process them.

  3. Individual rights and compliance obligations
    The session covers the rights individuals hold under GDPR, from subject access requests to the right to erasure, and what organisations must do to honour those rights in a timely and compliant way.

  4. Applying GDPR in your organisation
    Case studies and group discussion help participants apply the principles and rights framework to real scenarios relevant to their role — closing with continuous assessment and certification for those who complete successfully.
