Work Ready Day

We attended Moffat Academy on the 18th September taking part in DYWDG’s event #WorkReadyDay. This event was created as an alternative/addition to the traditional career fairs day. The day involves businesses coming into the school with interactive work ready projects allowing the pupils to learn about them and their sector through a hands-on approach. We had split our station into 3 sections, CPR, CO2 saturation levels and looking after your mental health. B Stations who we work closely with also attended and they had our digital CPR 360 video on display for pupils to interact with which had a great response.

Road Trip

We had the pleasure of visiting a few of our SVQ candidates in Elgen this month as our services have no boundaries no matter the distance. We have SVQ candidates all over Scotland ranging from SVQ Level 2 – SVQ Level 4 + Leadership & Management. It’s always nice for us to get out of the office but it is equally as nice getting back home!

New Employee

If you hadn’t seen on Facebook already, we have a new member of staff! They came from one largest e-commerce companies in the world (amazon) brings a wealth of happiness and loves to get out the office. Their eyesight isn’t the best hence the name, but we are excited to welcome Wonky Donkey! With the great success of the elf shelf last year we thought we’d try something different introducing a CTC character who’s goes out on the adventures with us. So far he’s been to Elgen, Aberdeen & Moffat. Pending visits include further trips to Glasgow and Falkirk in addition to attending his first staff team building day.

New Course

At the start of the month we announced an exciting new course availableat the end of the year, Developing Leadership & Management Training. This is a 4-day course split into 2 consecutive days over 2 weeks. This course covers teamworking, delegating, managing conflict, communication skills, effective listening, time management, supervision, developing confidence and motivation. Unpaid Carers

We are hosting several training sessions for unpaid carers. Who’s classed as an unpaid carer you may ask? An unpaid carer is anyone who looks after a person, this could be a friend or relative in a role that you do not get paid for. This includes social care as well as personal care. We host these training sessions as a support network to give these people the support and awareness to be more confident in some of the tasks they do on a day to day basis.
