The Professional Development Award in Leadership at SCQF Level 8 offers you the opportunity to develop your competence, knowledge and skills in practical leadership through implementing operational plans. It means that by doing the award you will be able to demonstrate that, in your work as a manager, you are able to operate in accordance with these national standards. Success in the award will mean that you will have proof that your work is up to national standards. In this way you can contribute to both your own future and to that of the organisation you work for.

Who’s this course for?

The PDA in Leadership at SCQF level 8 will enable you to progress within the Management HN and SVQ/NVQ framework. This PDA will enhance your career prospects and provide recognition of leadership and managing change skills.

Qualification

On successful completion of this Professional Development Award (PDA) in Leadership. This qualification has been designed to meet the requirements of social service workers who are in a job role where they assist in or administer Leadership.

Content

The PDA in Leadership at SCQF Level 8 is made up of two mandatory units at 20 SCQF credits:

  • B1 Develop and Implement Operational Plans for Your Area of Responsibility
  • B6 Provide Leadership in Your Area of Responsibility

Method

A mixture of independent and guided learning. This means you must be able to attend a half day online workshop once a fortnight for a minimum of 5-6 sessions. In between these sessions you will have some research/study/assignment work. Assesment is ongoing and will take form of written reflective accounts and observation in the workplace.
