PDA in Administration of Medication
On successful completion of this Professional Development Award (PDA) in Health and Social Care Administration of Medication at SCQF level 7, you will gain 16 credits. This qualification has been designed to meet the requirements of social service workers who are in a job role where they assist in or administer medication to individuals. The target audience for the PDA in Health and Social Care: Administration of Medicine includes the following groups, those who are involved in administering medication in social services and related settings, residential care workers, support workers and day care workers in services for older people, children and young people, mental health, care at home, housing support and personal assistants. The PDA is designed to provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for employees who are currently in a role where they administer medicine.
The award consists of 2 SQA units, SCQF 16 credits at level 7.

This PDA will give you more confidence when working with medications, it will give you a range of transferable skills which will enable you to meet changing circumstances and patterns in your workplace. It will meet the needs of your continuing personal development and it will also give you an excellent qualification which is documentary proof of your knowledge and competence in this area and a great addition to your CV.
This PDA is taught with a mixture of independent and guided learning. This means you must be able to attend a half day workshop in our training centre once a fortnight for a minimum of 5-6 sessions. In between these sessions you will have some research/study/assignment work. Assessment is ongoing and will take the form of written reflective accounts and observation in the workplace. This award should take no more than 3-4 months but this depends on the amount of time a candidate is willing/able to spend on the work.
